KCV has been having shuddering/rumbling while driving. Around 40 to 50 mph

thought tires needed balancing so i did the upfronts then the next day did the backs. problem was still there

did some research and what i figured was probably right. tranny issue

some guys said change fluid(mercon V), filter, drain the torque converter

took to a couple mechanics and they were all over the place. one place wanted $399

Went home and looked up the problem. found this:

bought one for $10

put it in tranny fluid and drove it

fucking car FLIES now. now hesitation, no vibration, no shudders. Only when I floored it uphill did I feel some slight rumbles.

Gonna add another bottle soon just or shits and gigs.

also, my tranny fluid is still reddish/pink

Start saving for a new transmission, or at least a new torque converter.

If you learn to do it yourself you can probably do it for $100 (check row52.com for donor cars at self-serv junkyards and check the yard's price list). If you pay a pro it will probably end up costing $1500.

Transmission sounds scary but it's ultra easy on a car like that, a great introductory project. The hardest parts are getting the car high enough off the ground safely and physically positioning the replacement transmission.

Side swiped a trashcan earlier and nicked passenger side mirror. Was hanging on by the wires and the mirror lens shattered.

Got home and duct taped it

ordered a replacement lens from rockauto for 24 bucks

FIDIL

will get a real replacemt one day pero the full setup is $115 even on rockauto

too mash monies
