SO. Gonna ask you gais opinion on something. I prob asked before.
It's job related. I was contacted by the shop that I work at part-time, West Chatham Warning Devices, about being hired full-time. And they want me right now. The pay beginning out would be less than adequate, as its only $10/hr. BUT.. I was guaranteed I'd advance up the payscale quickly since I have so many years experience w them and they said they know I'm worth it. They just want to do that to be fair to the other ppl they have just hired full-time. Would have Blue Cross / Blue Shield health insurance, same as I do now with the school as well as a 401(k), which I do not have right now. I have Teacher Retirement..which sucks because I'm "not certified". Anyway, I hate working for this fucking dictator we have running the school. Too much politics going on here. PPL that the boss likes get anything they want. hell the boss herself makes over $170k/yr. Raises, to go to conferences on the school's dime, etc. Others, like myself, get shit. I haven't had a raise in 10 years and have asked for one every year. The budget is always getting cut. Work morale sucks, I want to choke and/or physically harm most everyone that works here when they so much as look at me. I'd be taking a 10/hr pay decrease at first, but would make my way back up to what I make now, if not greater. Plus I can work all of the OT I want. Cliff Notes - I hate school. Have job offer doing something I like at a place I like, but will make less for a little while.

Can you trust them to keep their word about increasing your pay? Can you afford to make less in the meantime?
It sure sounds like you hate where you are now.

If its guaranteed that you'll get raises, the OT is legit, and you can survive financially on 10/hr for a while then I don't see the negatives since you'll have the same or better benefits and you already know that you enjoy the job.

jay is the school retirement like state goverment retirement cause if so that shits better than a 401k. if the school would make you full time it may not be the best idea to leave. how mash is the school paying hourly roughly?

I'm full time at the school right now. Have bee for 10yrs not including the 2 yrs I was at the bank.
Roughly.. I make $20/hr right now. That's a rough estimate BC I only get paid for 9 months a year but its broken down into 12month payments. The OT and guaranteed.raises is legit. This guy has never lied to me before. All I know.about the teacher retirement is that ive been paging into it for 10yrs and have 15k in it... I worked at the bank 2 years and had almost 10k in my 401k VZW GalaxyS4

yes but there is a difference. state retirements for the most part go into time served pension rather than payed in like 401k. you need to look into this to see how yours works.

I'm the Technology Specialist.. (Was Tech Director but they demoted me to keep from having to up my pay)
And we do have lots of time off, but I usually work those days anyway. I will at best take a week off during the summer. I'm going to see if I do decide to quit, if the school will let me do the IT work contract labor . Since I will be right across the road, and that way I can still claim all my expenses on taxes at business expenses.
