since mom told me she thought excalibur was being weird starting yesterday i been paranoid about it a lil bit too

dont htink hes pooped all day, changed litter last night, usually see pewp when i wake up. dont think hes been in box. thoughts?

he still moves, mom says hes been lazy (lazier than usual) hasnt puked luckily. dont see much wrong tbh, just him laying around more than usual. hes still able to move. might take to vet tomorrow

i cleaned it (took out all his shit) and just filled it. i took him over and he peed, thank god. so vet bill be less expensive this time

threw more litter on it. hope he poo's later. will keep eye out

My kittahs are ultra-tolerant of procrastination. Considering how I am, that's definitely a very good thing here.

With 4 cats I've switched to huge plastic storage boxen with tarps for liners instead of dinky little commercial litter boxen. I still have one Omega Paw Roll 'n' Clean in use though.

What I really want is a large piece of something similar to linoleum that I can just lay out in a closet/small room but I just haven't found the right materials. A litter room and a steel rake should be easier to manage daily than anything else. I also want to put up a venting system using a small solar panel to run exhaust fans 24/7.

One cat, the largest one, has a bum leg and I think he has some trouble getting in and out of the boxen. I guess he walks in head first and doesn't turn around and leaves his rear outside the box when he's pissing. The box he uses, way in the corner of the basement, has a tray outside it to catch when he misses. It's icky but it's better than the alternatives.

I added a little more litter and went to bed, found poop. So maybe has fever or something? at this point dunno wtf. Sitting at vets now. So many doges. Only an old lady with a cat and me with bamf pets

I had that one sitting around but if I was buying one I'd buy a clear one and skip the tarp, that way kittahs can see better inside it and I can see when sifting.

I use a kid-sized miniature steel garden rake to comb it and a digging shovel with a shortened (actually broken) handle to scoop. It's tough to do perfectly but unnecessary. Occasionally I sift the entire load or just throw it all away and pour in a fresh bucket.

I made a big sifter out of some aluminum mesh and an empty litter bucket...one shovel load goes on the concave mesh mounted to the top of the bucket, shake the assembly, reusable litter lands in bucket and clumps get dumped into outbound collection. Sometimes I end up with more than one bucket load of resuable litter and have to dump the bucket into a temporary holding bag or dirty a second bucket.

Fuck. We were afraid our kittahs had worms once and I was freaking the fuck out, that's the grossest thing I can think of. Turns out they didn't, but I was so goddamn skeeved.
