this year is the year that everything on KCV needed to be replaced if I want to keep car a long time

have already done:

oil filter gasket
ball joints
air filter
spark plugs
fuel filter
coil packs
battery
battery terminals

wanna do:
shocks
fuel injectors

Pumps are fairly cheap but labor on that shit is not. It can be a real bitch to drop the tank.

had some hesitation just now when started KCV pero not too bad

would you believe CEL went off by itself

did some hard driving last night and there was lots of leftover FIC in the tank. The CEL code was for a wide open fuel injector

prolly flushed a lot of shit out. Car idles smooth as silk

still got replacement fuel injectors coming in so FIDIL replace dem shits

My s10 had a hard start issue and I replaced the pump. Didn't notice until AFTER I replaced the pump and had it back together that the line going from the pump to the injector had a small pin hold from being assembled wrong and rubbing on the spring on the assembly. So I wasted all that money over $2 worth of fuel line...

I wouldn't start throwing parts at "just because I think thats the issue", test parts then go from there.

That's why I say start with diagnostic information gathering. Get loaner fuel pressure tester from parts store, check pressure off/key-on-engine-off/starting/running. That will help figure out the problem.

As far as working on the fuel system without getting sprayed in the face: Remove fuse or relay for fuel pump, try to start the car a few times, then there won't be pressure in the system anymore.
