You have to wipe all his info if it's on 2.3.4 so might as well flash a debloated ROM.

Just look on xda. If he has the .98 hboot then its a little more complicated, if he didnt take the 2.3.4 update then you can just run revolutionary.

This is the first time rooting anything other than a OG D1 and DX...

Okay so DInc2 is on 2.3.4 so will follow this guide...

1. Can I just copy the codes in adb or do i have to do it step-by step?
2. Please explain the following

Start with phone in Charge Only mode, sdcard mounted by phone, not PC, and USB debugging enabled

IMPORTANT: Run the Linux script as ROOT, run the Windows script as Admin.

- plug in the phone via usb
- make sure you choose Charge Only when you hit USB in the notification bar
- open the gallery or something to verify that the sdcard is mounted by the phone
- go into settings > applications > development and enable usb debugging

if you're on linux, be logged in as root when you run the script
if you're on windows, right click the script and Run as Administrator

As for adb codes, you can copy-paste but you have to paste them in one at a time, you can't copy several lines and paste them all at once, that won't work.

What Juan said. I had to copy the steps and do it manually though, the script wouldnt work right for me for whatever reason. End result is the same though as long as you dont fuck up.
