So they're going to give him a proper Muslim burial.

Another U.S. official told CNN that bin Laden has already been buried at sea. The official said his body was handled in the Islamic tradition, but did not elaborate.

A senior administration official also said bin Laden's body would be "handled in accordance with Islamic practice and tradition. This is something that we take very seriously, and so therefore this is being handled in an appropriate manner."

He's religiously assured passage to his paradise and his 72 virgins and such...killed by the enemy and proper burial does that.

IMO, better options:
- Take him alive and force him to live to a ripe old age in a prison full of Americans (except this risks him somehow getting loose, plus focuses terrorism).

- Take him alive and give him an old-fashioned Muslim stoning at the hands of the families of his victims.

- Put his body on display and make sure he DOESN'T get a proper burial. This discourages other jihad/fatwa terrorists as they wonder if they'll go to paradise and get their 72 virgins.

UN define any of that as a war crime?

No country would accept his body to be buried on their soil. So the US dumped into free waters in the middle of the Atlantic or something.
