If the bearings burn up then I'll just replace them at a later date. When they go they don't damage anything else, right? I just replace the bearings and maybe the races (which I just drive out/in)?

I think so. Since they are probably designed to be used with shallow boxes, you'd probably need a shallow box for the BEST sound but they should still sound good in a bigger box I think. Mine are in random box that is falling apart and still sound decent

you add it just like a normal pic but it has to be small enough (resolution and filesize)

You can use them in a regular box wo a problem.
I had my pioneer 12 shallow sub in a sony box that was orig loaded w a shallow sony 12 and it pounded. I then moved it to a regular underseat box in BBB and it hit even harder Sent from my DROID BIONIC

Correcto, you will just need races if they end up melting. Wipe off a bearing, look for pitting or scarring...if any are present, replace. Race should be nice and smooth, no bumps or scratches. For the fronts, just wash in gas, dry out and repack with good bearing grease...rears get lubed with gear oil so no need for grease.

I kinda thought the rears were lubed with gear oil, what with the axle seals outside of them and all (been reading up on my dad's Toyota Tundra axle seal failure), but I wasn't sure if that setup was universal.

Axle bearings in my Dana 44 were actually sealed off from gear oil. Pops didnt know that and after aboot 100 miles driving to san diego, we lost the pass. side axle. Completely came out, truck dragged ass and I lost a perfectly fine 15x14 wheel, 33" tire, axle and brake drum
So not all axles are same, pero its very common for axle bearings to use gear oil as lube....just know that its not always the case
