When I take shit apart in to do brakes and such, I know I ought to replace the front wheel bearings since they come out anyway for the new rotors. Should I do anything for the rear wheel bearings?

How do I choose appropriate grease for this shit?

theres regular bearing grease at auto parts store that i bought. think i had just replaced both fronts on lowgmc too

well honestly if the front bearings are good i never replace just pack them all nice. as for grease just need basic old wheel bearing grease that you get in the jar and shit. the back ones are alot harder. you have to pull the axle shafts to get to them. again if there ok dont change them. as long as there not making noise or something like that there not really a concern.

Yeah, I'd rather not bust my balls pulling the axle shafts. So is there anything I should do for the rear bearings? I don't think there is a zerk. The grease is probably at least 15-20 years old.

no you have to take the rear end cover the pinion loose to get the axle shafts out
