In a way, just trying to shutdown the amount of apps that startup with device. I like to have say instagram on the phone, but i dont necessarily need it to bootup/start with device.

Rick, have you seen these?
https://smile.amazon.com/Moto-Play-4.../dp/B01KBH547A https://smile.amazon.com/Moto-4th-Ge.../dp/B01EZC9WC0 From $99 (Moto Play - 16gb - lockscreen ads) to $230 (Moto G - 32gb - no ads) and a few options in between depending on memory size and whether you want ads or not. Also, I think that they can be easily rooted to remove the ads if you even care. Look them up on youtube, the ads aren't a big deal. These are Motorolas and Sprint capable. They even have LTE. Cost a little more than Kork's azn special but $99 for a Motorola with 4G LTE, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, 720p screen, Marshmallow, an sd slot, and it works on Sprint isn't a bad deal immfo. There's a really cheap BLU Prime phone also but that one doesn't work on Sprint or VZW like the Motos do.

Kinda interesting, but I don't think I can stomach the idea of dropping/crushing/drowning a phone that is so expensive...not to mention if I get spoiled by it and then have to go back to a shitphone.

Wife and I have each drop-cracked our LG LS620 Realms once. I bought parts donors on eBay, one of which was in overall good condition with a good ESN, and she decided she'd rather just activate that one and keep the old cracked one too. So, eventually I bought another eBay parts donor, but it didn't work. I bought a few more before I tried putting it back together with the old cracked screen and realized I must have damaged her motherboard.
So now I have, I dunno, at least 3 uncracked, probably good screens, and like 5 spare batteries. It's pretty sweet being able to haul around enough batteries to keep everything enabled and the screen on for 48 hours straight (not sure if exaggerating), and not worrying about cracking or scratching the screen. I don't even use screen protectors anymore. LS620 is dual core 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, 32GB MicroSD card installed (rumor has it that 128GB will work, gotta get me one of those). It was running shitty for a long time, then recently I had to factory reset while troubleshooting an activation issue and I didn't bloat it up again. Now it runs pretty decently.

love it, is like a V10 with slight improvements all around. Processor is faster, everything runs smoother. To me it feels like the battery life is quite a bit better, maybe because dat Nougat.

battery life isn't great either way, idk if it's the battery itself or one of the components being power hungry or OS issues or what.

yeah, the V20 is pretty damned nice in stock form, hence me being too lazy to unlock/recover/root since I don't really need to lol
