Went to junkyard to get steering column for porque turn signal assembly is all kinds of messed up and I want upgrade with modern turn signal stalk wiper switch instead of shitty dash-mounted wiper switch. Ended up scoring a custom steering wheel with Buick center cap too!

Couldn't drag my ass out in the cold until like 2:30pm but got dash completely disassembled and did a ton of cleaning up of 6 years worth of shitty half-ass cao ghetto wiring (as well as some of my grandfather's j00 ghetto wiring, or maybe that was my dad's non-denominational ghetto wiring, not sure who used lamp cord and wire nuts). Also popped off wheel, but not yet sure if I'm putting the new wheel (and guts from new column) on the existing column or swapping columns.
Gotta go to le store and buy some wiring supplies before I run out. I figure early morning store run will be easier than early morning working on shit, and then I'll be awake and up enough to work on shit.

Really getting shit done in now. Cleaned up some of the worst wiring mess by removing/replacing/zip-tying my nasty stuff, added some fuses, fixed and relocated a useless light that lights up the pedals so that now it lights up that annoying fuse block that's too high up inside the dash.

Replaced steering column guts with upgraded guts for stalk-mounted wiper controls. Also, turn signal latch was fucked, new guts fixed that. Used blue color-matched turn/wiper stalk like a boss, instead of black plastic or chrome.
May have missed a spring putting guts together but everything seems ok. Spring may have been for steering wheel lock. DGAF. Still haven't put new wheel on, gonna wait until dash is back in place, easier to put dash together without steering wheel in the way. I've got a little wiring mystery to solve now. The new wiper switch is wired differently. As it stands I have one-speed wipers instead of 2-speed (had before) or intermittent (will have when I'm done). Wiring diagrams aren't same format so I can't just look at them side by side for differences, I gotta desk-trace the circuits on the diagrams and figure out how it all works before I can figure it out. Cold and raining/snowing all day today. Ran space heater in car. Brought donor steering column into front seat to disassemble in there on my lap since all the tools were right there and it was nasty outside. Was kinda jesty.

Continued working on today.
Finished most of the wiring in the dash and put major parts of dash back together, but not before disassembling/cleaning/sealing all the HVAC ducts. I think more blow was leaking out of the duct joints and cracks than was blowing through the vents. Now it really blows! Also got the new turn signal/wiper control stalk working. No more of that shitty dash-mounted switch that had terrible ergonomics and mediocre (at best) function. No more flaky turn signal latch. No more lever falling off. And, I put the steering wheel on.
