I'd probably have the phone sync them up to Google Drive. There's gotta be a Google Drive client for Mac, right? Else, Dropbox/etc.
Lately there have been changes to a lot of my workflows with that shit and I've been lazy so I just let Google Photos back them up, then I open a web browser and grab them there.
