its basically about shirou, kind of an alternate timeline thing because in the novel you make one choice that changes the route you take completely, and its someting like having saber go outside or go after archer.
fate stay night was a visual novel with 3 routes, fate, UBW and heavens feel. each route was for each female too, fate for saber, UBW for rin, and HF for sakura. in the novel, UBW was the 2nd route after fate. u get to fuck rin in it lol
UBW is about archer and his reason for being pretty much. you saw the UBW movie right?
the new anime pushes out saber into a very non important character.
