Best way to fill is with the nozzle inserted 1.5 inches and aimed down (holding the handle end up). It makes me think that the filler neck tube is bent too sharply, which you can't see in the video.
So if you think trapped air is escaping like that, I might could skip the tube and just drill the hole.
