Yeah, fucking W10 does that shit.
You can disable the Windows Update service to prevent it. Alternatively, run gpedit.msc and find the settings for updates.
Also, there's a little piece of freeware out there called Shutdown Stopper that does one thing and does it well, but I don't know if it works in W10.
