The TeamViewer QuickSupport app lets you remotely manage Android phones. You can transfer files, chat with the person who has the phone, add wifi ssids, see installed apps/processes, cpu/ram usage, system logs, etc. Just tried it out on my phone and it's pretty damned nice.
This will be installed on my dad's new Note3 ASAP since he keeps asking questions.
The person with the phone shouldn't care either because they need to approve the remote session a few ways. 1) they have to give the remote person the random ID number that the app generates. 2) they need to approve when the person tries to connect. 3) they need to approve the remote control request.
oh and it's completely free if you're using it for non-commercial purposes
