If it doesn't handle Vista then it won't handle 7.

stonehenge 08-28-2012 01:42 PM

:word: didn't mean to try 7, sounds like XP is the best choice. Or a Linux build but then people be confused.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

If it were for me I would have put a small linux distro on it. I found an all in one driver tool so setting xp go only took a couple minutes.

Deliverables: After you create your application (test it and debug it), create an executable file. See FAQs file under the Information Tab on how to create an executable file in Visual Studio. Copy the code in your button event procedures in a document file. Submit both the executable file of your application and the document file with the source code.
sound easy? sounds like me mac can also handle it. thought id need to send the whole app or somthing

stonehenge 08-28-2012 04:40 PM

That doesn't say what you're actually creating but being your first assignment I doubt it will be hard.

Cez★ 08-28-2012 04:45 PM

yea the instructions dont mention it :roflshrug: probably just something random/easy

stonehenge 08-28-2012 04:49 PM

Hello world.

theholycow 08-28-2012 05:00 PM

If you're just writing a Hello World, then the executable is the "whole app".

Cez★ 08-28-2012 05:06 PM

Need to get book VS. Can has "buy" it? :secret:

stonehenge 08-28-2012 05:12 PM

They didn't have you get a book? :fp:

The Java classes I took had us buy some really useful books, happiest I've ever been spending the money. Math, english, etc books can eat a dicks.

theholycow 08-28-2012 05:16 PM

Yeah, programming books are often worth keeping...though possibly easier to "buy" than other books.

stonehenge 08-28-2012 05:19 PM

Yeah at the time I didn't mind buying it but I'm sure I could have "bought" it instead.

Cez★ 08-28-2012 05:21 PM

Yea I do have a book to buy. Supposedly comes with a CD with software (can't verify because school store dont have one) so I may "buy" the software seperate

stonehenge 08-28-2012 05:26 PM

Whats the book/software called?

:ohshit:

Those 8-bit video game cartridge style CPUs didn't hang around long. Too bad, they seemed gimmicky but were really pleasant to work with.

Cez★ 08-28-2012 05:28 PM

I'll get title of it later at work

I had one, I forget the speed. Maybe around 500-600mhz. Was easier to install than normal processors. Not that normal ones are hard but cartridge ftw :jester:

JayBo 08-29-2012 06:55 PM

Have 5 NEC projectors that are just barely out of warranty that have same problem. Pixels are disappearing in the projected image.

So now that NEC won't fix them, what are the options for projector repair??

Also has to figure out how to run Office 2010 from server.. SOme new kinda Microsoft classroom bullshit. that came wint ZERO instructions

stonehenge 08-29-2012 08:13 PM

Sysadmin dgaf about projectors, can't help you there. :/

WTF is this office from server nonsense? BIWP imo

theholycow 08-29-2012 08:27 PM

We just replace projectors when they get like that. :blah:

Office from server sounds like app-V/Remote Desktop Virtualization Host.

stonehenge 08-29-2012 08:51 PM

fts tell them to just install office and quit making you do extra shit :cheeky:

tl;dr: 51% of survey respondents believe that stormy weather can interfere with cloud computing. :jester:

theholycow 08-30-2012 12:04 PM

TBH I don't care for the term except when it's used for things which were done locally until after the term came into use. Basically, to me, that mainly means Office applications and files, corporate email hosting, business stuff like that. Putting your photos on facebook doesn't count. Banking or shopping online don't count. These things have been done online for 15 years now.

Even where I think it's appropriate and convenient I still think it's annoying.

stonehenge 08-30-2012 01:52 PM

banking/shopping shouldnt count but i'd count uploading photos and whatnot because you are actually storing something "in the cloud" and same with the office stuff where you do things that used to be local but are now "in the cloud"

so mostly agree
