What stainless are you pulling? I'm not familiar with what there is...interior trim under the doors maybe? Mine has various bits of chrome and spun aluminum gauges. Speaking of gauges, I need a fuel gauge, doesn't need to work...I have the face with water temp/fuel/volts but no can for it. There's a small rectangular hole where a vacuum or boost gauge is supposed to be, but I have a 2 inch vacuum gauge where my PRNDL was (and no vacuum bar meter) so I'm probably going to put my high beam indicator there (currently located behind steering wheel trim, lights up blue around the steering column). I don't want to risk destroying my gauge. |
mine has stainless down the rockers and wheel lips. my high beam and stuff is in the speedo
---------- Post added at 03:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:27 PM ---------- idiot lights fuel speedo shift indicator and the clock is all i have |
High beam used to be in my PRNDL.
You have a shift indicator? :wtf: |
the prndl is what i meant by shift inditactor
mines in my speedo along with the signals ---------- Post added at 03:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:41 PM ---------- mine also has a low fuel light in the fuel gauge |
Quote:
I thought you meant a light to tell you when to shift. I think my new gauge face may have a low fuel light too, now that you mention it. http://www.buickfarm.net/components/...37-Picture.JPG ...no maybe not. ---------- Post added at 12:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:30 PM ---------- Check http://BuickFarm.net for that trim you need. |

:cheeky:
|
see my gauge is nothing like that its just a big fuel gauge and led light. cow if you find in a yard a od gear indicator get it and ill buy it.
|
Round 2 inch? Post a photo of something like it.
If you don't need od, I don't expect to ever use mine again but it's just prnd21. http://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-6S...0/IMG_0459.jpg |
i looked again mines is like yours but black. od is what i need i may just use a aftermarket gear indicator
---------- Post added at 02:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:07 PM ---------- i thinking after 140 mph speed in oem locations tach where fuel gauge is and a small fuel gauge in the indicator. as for the bright light just a led in the wood above would work. idk what to put in the clock place maybeye a quad gauge. |
Post a photo of your dash. I wish mine had places for more gauges.
|
i dont have one right now ill have to get one at home. my dash is like yours minus the gauges being black.
|
no dash pics due to busted water line in shithole house that needs tore down
|
:sheit:

sounds ok has exhaust leak
|
 mine has exhaust leak too.
|
mines in that fucking crossover pipe. i hate that thing.
|
The pipe that goes from the drivers side manifold, under the engine near the bellhousing, and back up to the retarded junction box?
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_NUF7e4VZj88/TC...0/IMG_4787.JPG ---------- Post added at 08:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:50 AM ---------- That pipe on mine is going to rub through eventually, it rubs right against my bellhousing. |
mine actually is a little different it runs across and y in to the other collector on the right side at the bottom in front of mt cat convertor. but same thing really
---------- Post added at 01:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:14 PM ---------- sure makes life hell when changing starters the olds engins have starters on the left and the pipe lays against it. ---------- Post added at 01:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:15 PM ---------- i would like to loose at that shit have duals |
Speaking of bellhousings, wish I could afford this showpiece:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...torefresh=true I'm sure it'll go for over a hundred bucks. Mine didn't come with the fork boot or the inspection cover...I half-assed both using hastily cut flat aluminum and rubber stock and a zip tie. |
eh it works
i need a 200-4r to bolt to my 350 buick. |
Both are visible here:
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-_...0/IMG_5542.JPG |
you should get someone to cut you some metal and roll the edges and shit so it looks all nice
|
Looking at it now, I think I should drill some drain holes.
Like I'll ever get around to doing that. :bishplz: |
so much DIY in that pic :high5:
|
id build one with a drain hole and shit be easy with metal brake
|
My dad used to be a master at the brake. When he did vinyl siding all the time he'd wrap the window casings. He could bend all kinds of crazy crap on the first try. He's out of practice now.
Oh, and that nut/bolt that holds it on? I couldn't find one to fit the threaded hole so I just found one that fit through it loosely and used a nut. FIDIL. Oh yeah, you can can see my slave bracket in that pic too. One of these days I should wirebrush and paint it. ---------- Post added at 10:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:09 AM ---------- I should also brace it, it flexes a bit when I operate the clutch and I'm sure it'll eventually fatigue. Or, you know, I could do what I originally planned: Pay a machinist to make a decent one out of 1/4" stock. |
you can buy them for bolting a 5 speed to sbb too
|
I was unable to find an appropriate slave bracket pre-fab. I don't think any were made for the BOP bellhousing, which was only ever used with a rod linkage.
|
i think they made one but it was special company idk what it was but it was so you could mate a t56 or t5 to 455 or 350 should work with the v6 variants also.
|
:hmm: That would make sense. Maybe I did find one but it was ridiculously expensive.
|
seems like they are high dollar. only reason i knew this was in my searches for nailhead adapters which are stupid high dollar.
---------- Post added at 02:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:49 PM ---------- i know very little about stick shifts since i dont fool with them ever |
I just got a great idea. I got this OnStar/compass/temp mirror from the junkyard, for the compass and temp. I just realized I could hook other stuff up to the OnStar buttons/lights...especially my trunk release! When I put in the trunk release I used a toggle switch that I had on-hand and let's face it, using a toggle switch in a momentary application sucks. I've been looking for a safety-covered pushbutton (like the kind used to fire missiles) but I could use two of the OnStar buttons (if I only use one then I could accidentally pop the trunk while adjusting the mirror). Then I could use the freed-up toggle switch to operate the electrochromatic dimming of the mirror...
|
my car has a trunk button dont yours?
---------- Post added at 04:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:07 PM ---------- its a auto dimming mirror so it just need a key switch source to it and it will work like oem |
Mine didn't come with a trunk release. I grabbed one at the junkyard but didn't take the button at that time, for some reason.
Pin 5 (gray) is "Automatic Day/Night Mirror Signal" and pin 16 (pink) is "Automatic Day/Night Mirror Low Reference". Schematic shows them going through the Driver's Door Module. I thought it was all self-contained until I saw that while looking up which wire needs power. |
