it's nice brah cuz peeps share theyz calendario and you can see when they're open. You can also setup groups (iz in auditing group)....when we go out, we just setup an appointment and include ginger supv so he knows wez/Iz out. Pretty bamf since it's global but can also be :secret:

See my problem is, all we really need is a way to see who is here and who is out and why. That's really it. It doesn't even need to manage appointments or groups or keep track of hours or anything in our case. Our timesheets are handled elsewhere as well as appointments. Everything I find does way more than we need and is $$$. :insane:

We have a complete Exchange/Outlook system.

We don't use it for that, though.

Anyone have a proper DR (disaster recovery) plan, or at least a well-documented backup plan? Care to share it with me? I need to write one up and I'd love to have a sample for format and content.

2005_Silverado 01-21-2010 08:35 PM

we would ALWAYS write up district IT departments for not having a DRP :roflmao:

stonehenge 01-21-2010 08:50 PM

our DRP be "put 'BRB' note on the door and gtfo of town"

theholycow 01-21-2010 08:58 PM

Our current DRP is "Get call, stand in front of fan as shit hits it, get covered in shit."

stonehenge 01-21-2010 09:08 PM

In case of disaster, all employees will grab their shit, remove all money from their bank accounts, get loved ones, fill the tank, and fuckin' drive.

being a .gov...Iz REQUIRED to come in to work :taloco:

stonehenge 01-21-2010 09:29 PM

"ZOMG POWER DOWN NEED FILEZ :shitself: WHERE IS SERVAR GAIZZ OMG"

theholycow 01-21-2010 09:31 PM

When we had a huge storm that knocked out power for a week, my boss had to go in, get a server, and bring it to his grandma's house to get power to it so they could get some data.

stonehenge 01-21-2010 09:33 PM

yep and most the time they prob don't even need that shit asap, they just like to think they do and feel important :jester:

2005_Silverado 01-21-2010 09:38 PM

stonehenge 01-21-2010 09:40 PM

theholycow 01-21-2010 09:42 PM

 That'd be an awful idea, I could get stuck doing all kinds of crap I don't wanna do.

stonehenge 01-21-2010 09:45 PM

pff when the time comes FIDIL

theholycow 01-22-2010 05:54 PM

Anybody have a program that scans for and lists orphaned Application Data folders? Like, you uninstall a program and it leaves its stuff in Application Data.

I've been using Revo Uninstaller to get rid of a bunch of shitz but now I've got all that other crap that it doesn't help with...

stonehenge 01-22-2010 10:06 PM

nope

theholycow 01-25-2010 05:16 PM

Where can I buy a retail Windows XP license? I have a customer who wants XP dual-booting on his laptop and I'd like to do it legit.

stonehenge 01-25-2010 07:01 PM

good question  do they still sell it?

theholycow 01-25-2010 07:52 PM

:rofl2: Ok, I looked up downgrade rights and it said you can't have downgrade rights with a retail packaged Vista/7 OS...but for some reason it hadn't occured to me that his computer came with OEM Vista and he does have downgrade rights.
